First Time for Everything

This year I got word that I would be traveling between three different elementary schools to teach music. I have always had my own classroom in one school but I had to teach additional subjects in order to make up the teaching time to make me a full time teacher. I taught various reading interventions and got thrown into some other random things. So traveling between schools seemed like a pretty nice idea if it meant teaching only music.

Then I got my schedule. It's a little crazy and I hardly have time to think, let alone plan anything.

It's kind of like starting over as a first year music teacher. One school, the school I taught at for the last six years, has tons of technology in it that I've built up over the years and planned a ton of lessons for. Now I teach there the least. The other two schools I teach at do not have any technology in the music room that is worth using with the students, so I find myself planning for that all over again.

In the past few weeks, though, I've come up with some really great ways to stay organized and keep my mind from going crazy. I thought maybe I could share those tips as a way to reinforce them to myself and maybe help some other people out.

My name is Laura. I'm a music teacher. I love to travel.
